The Borough Council has been working hard with its tenants over the last year, to try to make sure it is listening to what tenants want and need.
We spoke to head of housing Tina Mustafa earlier, who gave us a quick overview of the work she and her teams had been doing.
You can take a look at what she said in the video below.
Part of the Council’s approach was to make sure they were listening more to tenants and what people needed. For instance, when the council was asked to increase security, more CCTV TV was installed, more resources were put into graffiti removal and anti social behaviour, while a new Finding a HOme scheme was launched, which aims to make it easier for people to access homes in Tamworth.
Estate walkabouts provided successful, where the police, council and other organisations go out and abot with the community to look at issues and what could be done.
And over the next few months, tenants will be asked to get involved and tell the Council what improvements they would like to see during the next year. This will be done via the website, the tenants’ magazine Open House and also at roadshow events held in different areas.
The full report can be found on the Borough Council’s website, along with a full breakdown of how the Council’s Housing team has performed.
